There's a simple word to remember when using a fire extinguisher PASS. Pull (pull the pin the keeps the handle from depressing), Aim (aim at the base of the fire), Squeeze (squeeze the handle to discharge the fire extinguisher), and Sweep (move the nozzle side to side at the base of the fire). Few things to remember if a fire gets out of control or starts to block your only escape, leave and call 911 and get the fire department on the way.
